Everything might be cancelled for 2021, except the expectations for Valentine’s Day.

With the world still stuck in a pandemic and many stores, restaurants, and entertainment still closed down to keep each other safe, many couples are wondering what they can do together for Valentine’s Day this year.

The good news is that with a little creativity and forethought, you can still have a romantic day with your loved one!

Let’s Make a Pandemic Plan for Love:

1. Plan an Activity

There are many activities that you can still take part in around town, such as going skating at the local rink, going on a day trip to the ski hill, taking a romantic walk around the Legislative Grounds, or a trip to Whyte Ave where they will be hosting Boardwalk Ice on Whyte with self-guided tours for free starting on February 12th!

Take it a step further and take a trip down memory lane by creating a Google Map route of locations that matter to the person that matters to you. Take them around the city and let them tell you what they remember with you in that place! Make the trip in-between locations a great experience by emulating Uber — Clean and detail the vehicle so it’s a noticeable effort, prepare some drinks and snacks that they love, and make a playlist that will make the trip light and fun but might bring up good memories.

2. Get Dinner for 2 From Edmonton-Area Restaurants

There are many restaurants creating take-out packages for a romantic dinner at home at various price points. Make it truly special by decorating to make a romantic atmosphere at home (get inspiration on Pinterest).

Here’s a few of our favourites:

A. The Harvest Room at Fairmont Hotel MacDonald | $69 per person

Enjoy a 3-course prix fixe meal at home from the Harvest Room for $69 per person. Pick up Febrary 13th or 14th between 12pm-8pm!
