The Gist:

In the real estate experience, one of the biggest days is the day you actually move out of your house and into your new home. So much emphasis is put on the house itself that we often don’t emphasize the importance of moving day.

• Moving people during COVID-19 has been somewhat challenging, but if the right protocols are followed, moving can be a hassle-free and safe experience.

• Having everything packed up and ready to go before the movers get there can save you a lot of time and money. Companies, such as Eager Beaver, often charge hourly.

Things to keep in mind:

• Moving out of or into condos will take longer, because there are many trips up and down the elevator. Consolidate your belongings as much as possible!

• If you have a lot of loose items, it will create more work and more trips.

• Moving companies provide tons of information and moving tips on their websites, as well as send you emails prior to the most as well.

Here’s the Process:

1. Visit https://eagerbeavermoving.com/ and fill out the online submission.

2. Within 24 hours, Eager Beaver will get back to you and if you can provide all the correct information, they will give you an estimated rate right then. If not, they can visit your home quickly and send you an email with the estimate and details later on.

3. Eager Beaver also offers a packing service, so they can come over the previous day and do the packing for you!

4. Once you’ve booked their service, you will receive a confirmation email to ensure all the information is correct. There is also no deposit needed, and no cancellation fees.

5. Before moving day, you will receive a few emails to be assured they haven’t forgotten about you!

6. On the day of the move, the size of the move will depend when they start. If it’s a large move, they start in the morning. If it’s a small move (i.e., condo), they can get it done in the afternoon.

7. Once you arrive at your new home, they will make sure everything is done satisfactorily. If you don’t like where the couch is, you can just ask and they will move it over for you. They will work until the job is done, and never ask to come back the next day to finish.

8. At the end, you make your payment with your payment card. The movers have the machine with them, so it’s super quick.
