Summer-Long Events

Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects at Edmonton Valley Zoo

From May 7 to September 5 2022

Edmonton Valley Zoo

Sean Kenney, an award-winning Lego artist who has been creating for over 15 years, has teamed up with Canadian Tire and the Edmonton Valley Zoo to bring his Nature Connects exhibit to Edmonton, with enormous LEGO sculptures throughout the zoo exhibits. This will leave you in awe for sure!


Laser City Day Camp

July 5 to August 25 2022

5104 67 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB

If you need to keep the kids busy for a day or two, Laser City Day Camps is a super fun option! A $65 ticket includes the day camp activities, a pizza lunch, and two snacks. There are three options to choose from: Minecraft Day Camp (ages 7-12) where kids can play on Laser City’s private servers loaded with mods, and learn a bunch of tips and tricks with a break to play laser tag; Mini Paintball Day Camp (ages 8-12) has half of the day for mini paintball (smaller paintball guns, smaller paintballs, slower speeds), and the other half playing laser tag; and Laser Tag Day Camp is all Laser Tag, all day, with different games being played with the other day campers.


Laser Stranger Things

Every Friday & Saturday in July

TELUS World of Science, Zeidler Dome

TELUS World of Science is putting on a Stranger Things themed laser show, set to popular 80’s music such as Sunglasses at Night by Corey Hart, Every Breath You Take by The Police, Atmosphere by Joy Division, and Whip It by Devo. For only $15/ticket, everyone will be talking about it for days afterward!

Grindstone Comedy Fest

July 6 - 10

The Grindstone Comedy Theatre and Bistro, 10019 81 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB

The third annual Grindstone Comedy Fest is back in Edmonton, and is hosting some of Canada’s top Comedians, Sketch Groups, and Improvisers. With sets taking place at the Grindstone Theatre, Campus St. Jean, and Howl & Roar Outdoor Stage, there are plenty of times and comedians to choose from.


Edmonton International Street Performers Festival & The Works Art and Design Festival

July 8 - 17

Sir Winston Churchill Square

Two for one! Churchill Square will be home to these two festivals for 10 days, with an incredible line up of performers and artists. There’s tons to do and see, with kids activities from 11:30am-5:30pm daily, Busker Academy workshops and activities, a stage with live music and performances, and a daily Troupe du Jour variety show starting at 10pm.


Cirque Du Soleil OVO

July 13 - 17

Rogers Place

Cirque du Soleil is back in town, and with 8 different showtimes across 5 days, it’s a must-see for the summer.

Edmonton First Responders 3rd Annual Rodeo

July 16 Starting at 11:00am

Kinsmen Club of St. Albert

The Edmonton First Responders Rodeo Association is back with their annual amateur rodeo event, a family fun filled event with first responders and their families as the rodeo stars. The Kids Corral starts at 11am and has tons of activities for kids, while the adults-only barn dance starts at 8pm. $15 per ticket and kids under 10 years old can get in for free!


Taste of Edmonton

July 21 - 31

Your favourite food festival is back, packed with live performances, daily entertainment, and the best of the Edmonton food scene. Enjoy all the Edmonton favourites such as Sheeba Indian Street Feed, Black Sheep Eatery, the Canadian Brewhouse, the Three Amigos Authentic Mexican Cuisine, the Cheesecake Cafe, I Love Bubble Tea, Italian Bakery, Miss Saigon Vietnamese Noodle House, and much more!


K-Days

Edmonton EXPO Centre & Exhibition Grounds

K-Days, Klondike Days, Capital Ex… Whatever you call it, it’s back in 2022! With rides, food trucks, midway games, concerts, performances, maker faire, indoor exhibits for exploring agriculture, the indigenous experience, and Monet, indoor and outdoor markets, and don’t forget about the fireworks show every night, theres no end to the amount of entertainment you get for a $15 entry fee!


Edmonton Carnaval 2022

July 22 - 24

The Edmonton Carnaval is excited to come back and let you explore the best of Latin Culture right here in Edmonton! Food trucks, artisan booths, live performances, crafts, and activities await! Free admission!


Edmonton Corn Maze

Opens for the season on July 26

Although the design of the maze has not been revealed at the time of writing, we can’t wait to see the unique design they make this year! Head out to the corn maze and get lost for a couple of hours, solving hints to lead you in the right direction and making memories with your family or friends. Don’t forget to check out the other activities outside of the maze such as the pedal carts, and the farm market with locally grown produce and artisan goods for sale.


Monster Jam

July 30

Commonwealth Stadium

If big trucks tearing up the dirt, pulling off intense stunts, and competing in incredible competitions is your thing, then Monster Jam is something you can’t miss! Begin at the Pit Party at 2:30pm where you can meet your favourite drivers, get autographs and pictures, see the trucks up close, and take part in other family-friendly activities. Make sure to get to your seats early to hear driver interviews and and learn more about Monster Jam.


Edmonton Heritage Festival

July 30 - August 1

Hawrelak Park

The Heritage Festival is a collection of Alberta based cultural groups that come together to share their history, food, song, and dance with the world. Celebrate Canada’s multiculturalism while immersing yourself in other cultures, enjoying the tastes and smells of different cuisines, and taking in the music and performances on the 25 different stages throughout the park.
